Job Reality Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
Job Reality helps users evaluate job postings before applying by checking the posting URL against available public evidence and presenting verification signals and an APPLY, VERIFY, or SKIP recommendation.
Information Job Reality processes
When a user submits a job URL for analysis, Job Reality processes the submitted job URL and information needed to analyze the posting.
The Chrome extension reads the active tab's URL and title so it can identify the job posting the user is viewing. The extension does not read page contents, cookies, passwords, form entries, or a user's browser history database.
How information is used
When an analysis is requested, the job URL is sent to the Job Reality analysis service at https://job-reality-pi.vercel.app/api/analyze. Information may be used to provide analysis, evidence, recommendations, repeat-observation signals, and operate the service.
Job Reality may retain the job URL, observation time, job title, and employer name when needed to recognize previously observed postings or repeat analysis.
Public sources
To evaluate a posting, Job Reality may retrieve publicly available information from job boards, applicant-tracking systems, and employer websites. Job Reality does not require access to a user's private account information on those services.
What Job Reality does not do
Job Reality does not sell browsing history or use the extension to build a general profile of a user's browsing history. The extension is designed to read the current job-posting tab needed for the requested analysis.
Data security
Job Reality uses reasonable technical measures to protect information processed by the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Job Reality changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
